Resume : Madagascar, 1942. Le major Antoine Robillard et le premier maître Maurice Rivière débarquent clandestinement sur l’île soumise à l’influence pétainiste. Leur mission : prendre contact avec Michepin, un notable local, et tenter de convaincre les sympathisants gaullistes de rejoindre la France libre. Mais la rencontre tourne court. Les colons jouent la carte de la prudence, hésitant entre les Anglais, les Allemands et les Américains. Robillard et Rivière n’ont plus qu’une chose à faire : quitter Madagascar avant d’être démasqués. Mais la guerre va les rattraper…
